Jonathan Chik bids farewell



TVB executive Catherine Tsang and a group of TVB artistes have recently held a farewell banquet for TVB's golden duo, Jonathan Chik and Chow Yuk Ming, who recently ended their two-decade relationship with TVB.

According to Popular Asians, among the artists who attended Chik and Chow's farewell banquet include Ada Choi, Moses Chan, Kenny Wong, Christine Ng, Raymond Cho, Eddie Kwan, Tracy Ip, Rachel Kan, and Matt Yeung.

Speaking about his retirement from the company, Jonathan expressed, "I really don't want to leave. But there is no such thing as a never-ending feast. I still have the energy, so why not use this opportunity reach out to the outside world?"

The producer, along with his trusty scriptwriter, plans to establish their own production studio and is also looking at opportunities in mainland China. However, Jonathan revealed that they will never rule out the possibility to collaborate with TVB again in the future.

Chik joined TVB in 1976 and worked as an assistant for producer Kam Kwok Leung, left for ATV in 1992 and returned to TVB in 1994. Together with scriptwriter Chow Yuk Ming, Jonathan has produced some of TVB's most well-known dramas, such as "Cold Blood Warm Heart", "At the Threshold Of An Era", "War And Beauty", and the critically acclaimed "When Heaven Burns".
